” Within the NWE-project Water Test Network, the SME DIAMIDEX obtained funding for trials for testing its product MICA Legionella. TZW as a partner within the project evaluated the MICA Legionella solution, which allows the detection and quantification of the pathogenic bacterium Legionella pneumophila within 48 h. By the classical culture-based method, this detection normally requires 10 days. More than 190 real samples have been analyzed, and a very good accordance has been obtained between MICA Legionella and the ISO-method. Being able to enumerate this pathogenic bacterium in only two days is a major step forward in the fight against such microbiological risk.”
